Thoughts on Reading, Writing, and 'Rithmetic

This is Melinda:

One thing I like about working at ALP is -- spending my day with people who love to learn

One of my favorite experiences with a student was the time when -- a third grader told me he didn't really know what "pasture" means, but he figured it was probably the opposite of "future."

Before coming to ALP, I -- taught preschool while I finished my college education

When I was a child, I always wanted to grow up to be a -- teacher in the Peace Corps

People say I -- am a good listener

One of my favorite books of all time is -- Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston

Something I really hate is -- the fact that chocolate has so many calories...

If I could use one word to describe myself, it would be -- unfinished
